BENSON – A striking new mural celebrating the city’s diverse historical roots is the latest collaboration between prolific artist Doug Quarles and Benson Clean and Beautiful. The 75-foot-long mural is a depiction of three main historical influences of early Cochise County life from the late 1800s and early 1900s, the pioneers, the local Chiricahua Apache, and Mexican heritage. The new artwork is located next to Benson’s downtown Circle K at 208 E. 4th Street.

Benson KFC Grand Re-Opening BENSON – The colonel is back in town. Residents, Benson city officials, and the PAK Foods leadership team celebrated the grand re-opening of the city’s KFC Restaurant with a ribbon cutting August 5, 2025. The KFC restaurant at the Highway 90/I-10 intersection was temporarily closed for renovations after a “decoupling” from its sister restaurant, a Taco Bell, which shared its space. PAK Foods opened a new Taco Bell location opened on Fourth Street in April and the interior/exterior remodeling began on the KFC.
